The principles
How Montessori works
🔭
Follow the child
We observe each child and offer the work they are ready for.
🕊️
Freedom within limits
Children move and choose freely inside clear, kind boundaries.
🧩
Hands-on materials
Concepts are learned by doing, with self-correcting materials.
⏳
The work cycle
A long, uninterrupted morning lets deep concentration grow.
About the approach
Developed by Dr Maria Montessori, the method treats the child as a capable, active learner. In a mixed-age room, children work with concrete materials that isolate one idea at a time, from pouring water to the golden-bead decimal system. Trained guides observe closely and step in to present new work, then step back so the child can practise and master it.
The result is not just early academics, but focus, independence, and a genuine love of learning.
